Last Night of the Proms 2017

Shrewsbury International School hosts its annual Last Night of the Proms concert on Thursday, 2 November 2017, promising another evening of top quality musical entertainment and hospitality.

Based on a musical festival that was first staged in Britain over 120 years ago,  “The Shrewsbury Proms” is now in its 11th year and has become a hugely popular feature of the  Bangkok performance calendar.  This year’s concert, inspired by the theme “Going Places” will take the audience on a musical journey; from the warm climes of Spain towards the Arctic Circle, and from Space to home again. The programme also features a special musical tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej as well as the traditional Proms favourites Jerusalem and Rule Britannia, all performed in Shrewsbury’s world class auditorium

The event starts at 5:45pm with a pre-concert drinks reception followed by a quality buffet dinner of fine international cuisine, and capped with a post-concert fireworks display finale, all to be enjoyed in Shrewsbury’s unique riverside setting.

The guest list includes business leaders from leading national and international companies, and representatives from a range of embassies and social and professional organisations. Prepare yourselves for an entertaining evening and bring your flags, friends and family to join another memorable evening at Shrewsbury International School.
