5 Great Tips to Plan a Kid-Friendly Vacation Without the Stress

Most people have great memories of being on vacation as a child. These are often memories you’ll want to replicate with your own kids. As natural as that is, trying to plan a kid-friendly vacation or road trips around Thailand can often be a little complicated.

There’s more to take care of compared to just planning a trip for yourself and your partner. But that doesn’t need to mean it has to be overwhelmingly difficult.

It just means knowing a few things ahead of time and using a few tips and tricks. Once you do, you shouldn’t have a problem planning out a trip that you and your family enjoy. You’ll end up making memories that you and your family can look back on fondly for years.

Some tips and tricks could help a lot more than others, making them well worth focusing on. Five of them can stand out quite a bit.

Plan a Kid-Friendly Vacation: 5 Tips to Use

1. Pack as Lightly as Possible

Packing is one of the more notable parts of getting ready for your trip. But, it’s often one of the more complicated. You’ll want to make sure you have everything you need, but you’ll also need to worry about fitting it all in a bag and making sure it doesn’t weigh too much.

It’s always worth trying to pack as lightly as possible. This is often easier said than done, but it’s worth putting a bit of time and effort into it.

There are a few tips and tricks to this, though. If you need nappies, for example, only bring enough for the first day or so. You can pick these up relatively quickly once you’re on your trip, and it’ll help you save a lot of space in your suitcase.

2. Don’t Forget Sunscreen

Speaking of packing, it’s always worth making sure you bring enough sunscreen with you. This is especially important for your kids, as they could end up getting sunburnt a lot faster than you would’ve thought. Sun care for our kids, especially in Thailand is one of the most important factors to consider.

Thankfully, there are plenty of options you can go for, some will be a lot more recommended than others because they’re more child-friendly.

Options with non-nano zinc oxide can often be the best options for this. They don’t just protect you and your kids from the sun, but they can often be the healthier options to use. They shouldn’t have any harmful ingredients in them, for example.

3. Pick Restaurants Carefully

It’s natural to eat out when you’re on your trip. But, it’s worth being as smart as possible when you’re figuring out which restaurants you should go to during the trip. Looking into them ahead of time can help with this quite a bit.

You could look into the menu they have to make sure they have food your children will like, for example. Since kids can be fussy eaters, it’s worth looking into this.

Don’t forget to check out their reviews while you’re at it. That way, you can make sure the restaurants you’re considering are actually recommended. It’ll take a little time to do this, but it’ll be more than worth it once you get to the restaurants.

4. Plan an Open Itinerary

It’s always worth planning out your itinerary as much as you can before you go on your trip. Restaurants will be a key part of this, but they’re far from the only area to focus on with it. You’ll need to consider more than a few other activities, too.

You’ll want to make sure everything’s as family-friendly as possible while still being able to enjoy yourselves. Look into what you can do wherever you’re going for this.

But, it’s worth making sure you don’t over-schedule yourself when you’re doing this. Build some open time into your days so you can spend some time relaxing. You wouldn’t want you and your kids to be rushed off your feet the entire time, after all.

5. Think Carefully About Transport

It’s always worth looking into transport when you’re on your vacation. You’ll need to get around quite a bit, after all. While public transport is always available, this usually isn’t the best option when you have your kids with you.

Thankfully, you’ll have more than a few other options, too. Taxis are one of the more obvious of these. But, you’ll still need to worry about car seats.

Renting a car can often be the best option to go for. While this could cost a little more than using taxis, it makes sure you don’t have to worry about getting around with your kids when you’re on the trip. There’s no reason not to put the effort into it.

Great Vacation Destinations for a Family Trip

One of the larger decisions you’ll have to make when you want to plan a kid-friendly vacation is where you’ll go. Plenty of places could be relatively obvious, especially when your child is between certain ages. Disney World and other fun parks will be natural choices, and there are several options just a short plane ride away from Thailand.

But, you have far more options than that, and it’s always worth knowing which ones actually stand out and here is where you can get the kids involved and have family discussions, age-appropriate of course!

Wrapping it Up

You’ll have plenty of reasons to plan a kid-friendly vacation. It helps you create memories you and your family can look back on fondly for years and creates those vital bonding experiences.

It can often feel like a stressful experience with all the planning, but by using a few tips and tricks, it’s not nearly as complicated as you think.
