The Wellington College Governors’ Scholarship

A Scholarship is a responsibility. A Scholar has great ability, and greater potential. That must be realised. When a Scholar and an outstanding school team up, each party must contribute, and excellence must be the ongoing outcome of this collaboration.

A scholarship is also a reward. A reward for hard work, focus, commitment, motivation – and extraordinary achievement.

Wellington College has been giving scholarships for over one hundred and fifty years, and Wellington’s Scholars have been inspiring peers and leading investigation, debate and accomplishment across the College throughout that time.

Our first Bangkok Scholarships are offered for Year 9 entry (age 13 on 31st August 2021) to young people of extraordinary ability and potential in the following areas

  • Overall Academic
  • Golf
  • Swimming
  • Music

In addition to their normal studies and activities, Wellington Scholars embark on a tailored programme for excellence, exploring, being challenged – and challenging themselves – to excel.

Wellington College is proud to be able to offer these inaugural Bangkok Scholarships, and very excited to welcome more outstanding young people into our global community.

Please review the criteria here and if you would like to discuss with us further, we would be delighted to hear from you via the enquiry form.

About Wellington College International School Bangkok

Wellington College is an independent, co-educational day school which follows the National Curriculum for England, developed and enhanced in ways appropriate to our Thai and Asian context.  On our beautiful purpose-built campus, our School has three sections, starting with Early Years Foundation Stage, encompassing Pre-Nursery (2 years old at the start of the academic year), Nursery (3 years old) and Reception (4 years old).  Junior School starts from Year 1 (5 years old at the start of the academic year) to Year 6 (10 years old). Senior School, from age 11 to 18, readies students for IGCSE examinations in Year 10 and 11 and A-levels in Year 12 and 13.

We operate in close partnership with Wellington College in Berkshire, UK, as well as our sister schools in China, and provide an education that is vibrant, demanding and progressive, encompassing both serious focus on academic achievement and a breadth of approach to the larger context of sport, performance and a wide range of activities of all types.  We believe strongly in the importance of individual motivation and the structured development of personal and intellectual independence; most of all, we want our students to become well-rounded, genuinely good adults who are equipped, able and ready to flourish in the world.

We are currently accepting enrollments for the 2021/22 academic year. Contact our Admissions Team today to find out more and to arrange a tour.
