Thanksgiving Event to Benefit The Mercy Centre

Craving a traditional American-style Thanksgiving celebration? Come and join a Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet at The British Club in Silom, including turkey with all the fixings, on Saturday, 17 November, from 4pm to 8pm. The event is geared for families, to benefit the Mercy Centre/Human Development Fund (HDF) orphanage in the Klong Toey slums.

Kids in attendance will also be able to partake in a range of fun activities, from playing in a bouncy castle to jumping on a trampoline — all at no additional cost above and beyond the meal. Children from the Mercy Centre will be performing traditional Thai music and dance. There will also be a raffle with great prizes, a silent auction, and a cash bar for adults.

The cost is 1,700 baht per adult. Kids ages 6 to 12 are charged half the cost of adults for the meal at 850 baht, while those 5 and under enjoy free admission.

All profits will go to HDF/Mercy Centre for the orphanage in Klong Toey as well as toward their expansive kindergarten education program for disadvantaged children. The primary sponsoring organization is Republicans Overseas – Thailand, but the event will not be about politics; it is purely a day of family, friendship and Thanksgiving. Everyone is welcome!
