Festive Events: November-December 2017

It’s almost December, which means it’s starting to get festive in Bangkok! Below are some of the holiday markets, fairs and events happening in town, including meet & greets with Santa!

Gaysorn Christmas Village 2017: Three days of festivities at the recently revamped luxury shopping centre, with a “Soidao” lucky draw promotion to win prizes, seasonal gifts, festive hampers, creative gift fair and food trucks! There will also be a Festive Village with a Christmas photo booth and other activities.

Ploenchit FairManaged by the British Community in Thailand Foundation For The Needy (BCTFN), this huge charity fair features games, rides, food and drinks galore, and a Santa’s Grotto. Also, get your Christmas shopping done early at Petticoat Lane Bazaar with over 70 vendors: handicrafts, home wares, clothes and accessories, books, jewellry, Christmas hampers and everything else you never knew you needed.

The Hope Fair Special Xmas Edition: Uniting more than 110 entrepreneurs, artisans and designers, the fair affords the perfect opportunity for the Christmas shopping spree, to satisfy gourmet desires, find special presents for loved ones, and talk directly to suppliers, creators and makers. Once again, all merchants will be donating to those in need and purchasing gifts for 450 children under the care of the Mercy Centre, Klong Toey.

Bangkok Community Theatre Presents A Christmas Carol: Directed by Michael Allman and produced by Don Harrelson, this all-time Christmas classic will get you into the Christmas spirit. The play is appropriate for audience aged 10 and over.

When: 1, 2, 8 & 9 Dec, 7.30pm, and 2 & 9 Dec, 2pm

BKK Kids Charity Fair for Gift of Happiness Foundation: A fun morning of games, arts & crafts, sensory play, storytelling, food and shopping with the family! All ticket and vendor table proceeds will be donated to The Gift of Happiness Foundation, to support their work helping refugees, slum residents and survivors of abuse throughout Thailand and in border areas. Also, please bring any gently used clothing, bedding, towels, household goods, toys and books to donate to the foundation.

Moms & Babies Christmas Party 2017Enjoy the festive season with fellow parents and babies. Also, do some Christmas shopping while the little ones take a photo with Santa and enjoy fun activities. Dress code: holiday cheer!

December 2017 ThaiCraft Fair: The holiday editions of the ThaiCraft Fair will be held twice this month at Jasmine City. Come and shop for unique Fair Trade Xmas goods and gifts — all lovingly made by hand!

Annual Giant Gingerbread House Party: Central Thailand Mission‘s annual charity event is back – decorate gingerbread cookies to bring home, as well as a giant gingerbread house. Also, St Andrews International School’s senior choir will sing well-loved Christmas songs and kids from the Thanksgiving Home will perform a magic show. And tuck into tasty teatime finger food and pastries, plus a couple of beverages for adults.

Zing Christmas Concert:Zing Choir invites you to join them in singing Christmas carols and more, to spread holiday cheer. The concert is free but the they will be collecting donations for the Immanuel Music School in Klong Toey.

Winter Fair at Bangkok Prep: Experience some festive cheer, food, activities and shopping in the heart of Sukhumvit. Santa Claus (Santa Bill) will be visiting from 2pm to 5.30pm for photos and spreading good cheer.

An Afternoon of Christmas Carols with the Rajvithi Home for Girls: The girls from the Rajvithi Home will sing Christmas carols and songs in a festive setting, with a mini Xmas market and homemade egg nog. Proceeds will benefit the Home’s music development program.

Christmas Market and Celebration at RIS Swiss Section: The Christmas market offers a great opportunity to buy lovely gifts or to enjoy some homemade cookies or Glühwein. Children of all ages can enjoy the various activities during the Christmas workshops in the afternoon. In the evening a delicious Christmas buffet will be presented and various Christmas performances and shows will entertain guests.
