Enter the Colouring Competition at Ploenchit Fair!

Mark your calendars — the Ploenchit Fair returns to Bangkok Patana School on Saturday, 26 November 2016! Managed by the British Community in Thailand Foundation For The Needy (BCTFN), the fair is one of the largest charity fairs in the region, and it has been a much anticipated annual event since the first fair was held in the late 1950s.

The fair is based (loosely) on the English ‘village fair’ concept, with numerous stalls including games and vendors. With clowns, cotton candy, a ferris wheel, rock climbing walls and a balloon castle among the games and activities, children won’t get bored. For adults, there are shops aplenty, games, great raffle prizes, food, live music, and more. All funds raised will go to local charities.

BKK Kids will also be there! We are running this year’s colouring competition with Nancy Chandler Maps and Staedtler. Entries are welcome from all ages, with cash and other prizes for those ages 0-6, 7-9, and 10-14.

Kids do not need to attend the fair or be present at the time of judging in order to enter. You can download the colouring page here, print it on A3 or A4 sized paper, and start colouring. Please submit it to us by mailing or delivering it to: BKK Kids Colouring Competition, 19/142 Sukhumvit Soi 13, Klong Toey Nua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110.

We will accept entries up until 2pm on Friday, 25 November 2016 (i.e., they must arrive at our office on that day either by post or delivered in person). You can also bring your entry to the fair and hand it to us at our Colouring Competition booth any time before 4.45pm. Judging takes place around 5pm. Additional posters will be available for those who prefer to colour at the fair itself.

In case you were wondering, the name of the event comes from its former venue at the British Embassy on Ploenchit Road, but it is now held in Bang Na at Bangkok Patana. Free shuttle buses are available to and from Bang Na BTS Skytrain Station from 10am to 8pm. Most activities for children end around 6pm.

Hope to see you at the fair!
