The Japanese Kawaiimama festival is arriving in bangkok this September for the first time. The highly successful fair from Singapore is hosting its inaugural event at DONKI Mall Thonglor on 12–13 September 2026. Get ready for a colourful weekend of Japanese-inspired family fun!
Taking over the 3rd and 4th floors of Donkii Mall, this family festival brings together an opportunity to discover Japanese brands, kids’ activities, stage entertainment, workshops and plenty of fun experiences for families to explore.
And this year, BKK Kids is excited to be part of the festival at the International School Exhibition on the 3rd floor, giving Bangkok families the chance to meet some of the top international schools face-to-face while enjoying a full day out with the kids.

Head Upstairs for Kids Activities & Family Fun
There’s plenty more happening on the 4th floor, with activities and entertainment planned throughout the weekend.
Families can look forward to a mix of fun workshops, sports and learning activities, with participating organisations including international kindergartens, Peekaboo, sports academies and Money School Bangkok.
The 4th Floor Main Hall will also feature stage performances, crawling and baby walker races, Nap Time Art and hands-on activities for kids and parents.
Ultraman & Crayon Shinchan Are Coming!
Two familiar Japanese favourites are also joining the fun — Ultraman and Crayon Shinchan!

Love discovering something new? The festival will also feature a Pop-Up Market on the 4th floor, powered by Project Butterfly.
Families can browse a selection of Japanese and local brands offering lifestyle goods, accessories, toys and more.
The Main Hall will also welcome exhibitors including SARAYA, Marukome and more, making it a great opportunity to discover Japanese brands alongside all the family entertainment. Look out for stage events, a Stamp Rally, Nap Time Art, free samples and gifts, exhibitor booths and other family-friendly experiences across the event.
With activities for little ones, school-age kids and parents, families can easily spend a few hours exploring both floors.
