5 Restaurants in Bangkok Where Kids Eat For Free

As a parent, discovering a great restaurant where the kids can eat their favourite dishes for free (or almost free) is always a welcome sight. Here are 5 restaurants in Bangkok that fit this much sought-after category.

1. Jones & Mowlem

Situated on the 8th floor of The Emquartier, Jones & Mowlem is known for serving up sensational fish & chips – a sure-fire hit when you’re eating out with the kids. Other notable dishes include the smoked salmon carbonara and lamb shank with truffle mash. Portions are also generous, so be sure to arrive with an appetite. One child eats for free per accompanying parent ordering a main course.

2. Sunrise Tacos

Mexican chain restaurants don’t always enjoy a great rep, but Sunrise Tacos in Bangkok bucks the trend. Quality ingredients are a priority at each of the seven branches, with imported cheeses and freshly made guacamole using Australian avocados. Every Monday, “Li’l Amigos” (children up to 7 years old) can enjoy a free item from the children’s menu, a free drink and a free slice of apple or pumpkin pie when accompanied by an adult ordering food of equal or greater value.

3. Snapper NZ

Tucked away in Sukhumvit Soi 11, Snapper NZ delivers a menu dominated by seriously good seafood and fish dishes. Go for manuka smoked mussels, pan fried lemon sole, or pick a tasting platter for everyone to tuck into. Meat lovers aren’t forgotten either with gourmet burgers, juicy steaks and New Zealand spring lamb. Every Sunday, one child (aged under 12) per paying parent can enjoy a free dish from the kid’s menu.

4. Seasonal Tastes

Seasonal Tastes at the Westin Sukhumvit is a pretty swish place for a family meal. And it also serves up a huge variety of dishes sure to keep everyone happy. Compelling cuisine is cooked from live stations, with pizzas, pastas, salads, Thai dishes and Asian wok-cooked dishes and noodles. There’s also a carvery, hot buffet, dedicated Japanese section and huge selection of desserts. For every adult dining, two children up to the age of 10 eat for free (valid for Sunday lunch only).

5. Bistro 33

Located in Sukhumvit Soi 33, Bistro 33 is a great choice for families. Sunday brunch. From 11.30am to 3pm is a lively affair, with a range of options in the buffet including pizza; BBQ; roast turkey, ham and lamb; salads and cold cuts and more. The cost for adults is 1,200 baht plus VAT with a free flow of beer, wine or spirits (or 500 baht without alcohol). While not entirely free, kids under 12 eat for the bargain price of 250 baht, plus they get to try their hand at making pizza.
