Get Inspired at The HOME, Bangkok

Located in Sukhumvit 23, The HOME: House Of Magical Epiphanies is a welcoming space dedicated to inspiring through art and design, food and sound, movement and stillness — a social pilot project of constant evolution and playful experimentation. Entering its third year of existence, The HOME also aims to bring people together to celebrate their differences through the shared need and appreciation for creative forms and culture.

“The notion of a Sustainable Equity System has transitioned into a showroom for in-house and collaborative projects, each fueling one another in symbiotic relationships — a place to network, exchange and share through workshops, events, exhibits and practices,” says Carla Soledad Rivera, Founder of The HOME. “The purpose is to empower, inspire, nurture and enrich, to unlock potential and develop exponentially. Everyone is invited to be a part of The HOME network.”

The HOME currently offers several ongoing activities aimed at adults, such as drum circles during every full moon. The community comes together to celebrate the end of the lunar cycle with the intention of closing chapters, and release what no longer serves.  Through creating sound and music, the space converts to a place to play, dance or just being still.

Flamenco Olé Siam is also based here, serving as a platform for a those interested in or passionate about Flamenco dancing, and “sharing a better understanding of this art form that communicates through dance and music to reveal
the ‘duende’… the true being that lives in all of us, one’s spirit.”

There are also programs for children and parents, such as:

  • Baby and Mom Yoga each Friday, starting 28 September 2018, 10:00 to 11:00 am
  • Hula Hoop Making and Classes on 14 October 2018, 3:00 pm
  • Re-making Toys Class on 21 October

For the latter, the workshop is based on the idea of re-making toys from broken and unused toys. It will include a short intro on toy design and theory, a brainstorming session to gather ideas on what the toys might become, as well as time for creation and building, with a final presentation of each design. The goal of this workshop is to push kid’s creativity in a fun way while learning the potential of everyday discarded and forgotten objects.

“The benefit of this workshop might be that your kids won’t need a new toy every week, you’ll save money and space and they will learn the value of re-using instead of just consuming,” explains Carla.

There are also prenatal yoga and capoeira classes coming up in the near future. Please visit The HOME’s Facebook page for more details on upcoming workshops and events.
