Bangkok Butterfly Garden and Insectarium is situated in the Wachirabenchathas Park (the Railway or Rod Fai Park) adjacent to Chatuchak Markets. It is an outdoor resource centre boasting a lofty butterfly dome built to accommodate butterflies in a natural environment. The sanctuary includes rockeries, a waterfall, ferns and wild flowers, which are part of a larger area containing an activity ground, exhibition area, feed breeding and embryo room, insectarium, butterfly garden and Lamphu tree ground.

There is a study room available for children wanting to learn more about butterflies and insects, their life cycles and being. The gardens and insectarium are also a great family escape from the heat and congestion of Chatuchak Market. The surrounding area, Queen Sirikit Park, offers plenty of open space, manicured gardens and a bike track for families. Bikes can be rented for a small fee.
