The Bangkok Community Theatre will stage the musical “Once on This Island”, a family musical, recommended for kids ages 10+. However, younger children who love performing arts and magical worlds would enjoy it as well. It’s a 90 minute show in one act (no intermission), so it is suitable for those who can sit still for this period of time.
The show is set on an island with a catchy Caribbean influenced score, and promises a joyful theatre experience. It revolves around the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl orphaned by a storm. She is adopted by two loving peasants and she dreams of a life bigger than her own. She falls in love with a boy from the rich side of the Island and heals him after he suffers from a car crash. The power of love guides her to overcome death and to her final destiny. One of the cast members includes Pan, a sweet and talented 10 year old girl playing the young version of Ti Moune.
