At first glance, living in Bangkok or a visit to the city might not seem like the most suitable place for kids. That’s a huge misconception. Bangkok or ‘The Big Mango’ as it’s known locally, offers a vast array of amazing activities and camps for kids. From soft play centers to wild water parks, there are plenty of places to enjoy some family fun and keep everyone from toddlers to teens happy and occupied.

To make your life easier our BKK Kids community members have voted from the hundreds of super cool attractions to create our Top 25 Things to do with Kids in Bangkok. Here we have compiled a list of our members’ most popular places and we’ve included something for everyone. You can learn to surf in the heart of the city, visit a water park on top of a shopping center or discover the back streets of Bangkok on family friendly bike and scooter tours.

BOUNCE is Bangkok’s Largest Indoor Urban Playground comprising a massive indoor trampoline park for all ages located at The EmQuartier . Their mission is to inspire movement via 2,400 square meters of interconnected trampolines, padding, and airbags. There are various adventure features, The Wall, Slam Dunk, Big Bag and a Free-Jump Arena. Family fun in an outside artificially generated static wave pool where kids can practise their surfing style. Various levels of simulated waves test your surfing skills or learn to surf and balance for the first time with their qualified instructors. The Maple Skate Park is an indoor skate park located in Ichiba Station Japanese night market on Ramintra road where you can skate even if it’s raining or sunny with hundreds of parking lots available and loads of food and snack at the food zone. EasyKart have 3 locations: Bangkok, Pattaya and Koh Samui. The track in Bangkok is inside and air conditioned which makes a huge difference and is very convenient for families with younger kids. If you are looking for a fun activity this is definitely worth checking out. They have special karts for children (120cc) and larger (160cc) for adults and a viewing area if you prefer to just let the kids have fun while you relax and watch the family on the racing track. There is a bar, pool and fuse-ball tables to keep the kids amused and plenty of qualified safety experts on hand at all times.

One of the best ways to stay cool in Bangkok is in a water park and there are many to choose from. Pororo is one of the newest and has internationally trained lifeguards on duty in their resort style roof-top water slide park sitting on top of a shopping mall, offering a new and exciting water fun experience. Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World has long since been one of the most popular places to visit for families in Bangkok. Sitting in the basement of one of the most popular shopping centres, it gives you a full day experience and an escape from the cities heat. Offering a host of activities from a magical rainforest experience and a penguin ice playground complete with snow and cold breezes! One of the highlights for visitors is definitely the ocean tunnel where you can immerse yourself in the wonders of the ocean by walking along a magical path while being surrounded by sharks, rays and the occasional mermaid show. A beautiful community feels, indoor playground and nursery ideally for children age 0-7, with a baby changing station and nursing area for mothers with small babies. Playville features 4 zones to encourage toddlers to walk, crawl, climb and dive or slide into large ball pits. There is a small play area outside featuring sand play and a jump area and inside there are multiple creative areas for kids to use their imagination playing cooking or shopping. One of the things you least expect to do in Bangkok is ice skating! Sub Zero has 3 branch’s across Bangkok so you can choose according to your location. All of them have professional coaches and feature both learning areas and play areas. All locations feature their own skate academies teaching both figure skating and ice hockey. Each branch has its only individual style with Ekamai being more of a ‘hip hang out’ complete with their own DJ, while Megan Bangna features a glow in the dark atmosphere giving it a more futuristic look. Skate boots are available for rent at all locations and it’s advised to take your own socks.

If you’re looking for something unique that will entertain both you and the kids, an escape room is an excellent way to spend some amazing time with your family and friends as you work together to escape from one of the various rooms on offer. This is a new and fun form of entertainment and takes puzzle-solving to a whole new level. There are various themed rooms from Prison Break to The Mummy, rooms do need to be booked in advance. The idea is to solve clues to move from one area to the next in an interactive puzzle game where partic- ipants are locked into the room and where you need to engineer your own escape.

Siam Amazing Park is the largest amusement park in Thailand and just 30 minutes in a taxi outside central Bangkok. It is a giant playground for kids of all ages and offers something for everyone, from a giant water slide to shopping in their Thai heritage shops in an area dedicated just to Thai culture. It’s organised into 6 different areas or zones, water world has a huge wave pool and extreme world which has some pretty impressive rides. There are also areas that focus mainly on younger children complete with swan boat rides and giant dinosaurs in a Jurassic world style adventure ride. You need a full day here to discover everything, and be prepared to walk, as it spans across 119 acres of land!

D-Sports Stadium is a huge indoor play space located on the 5th floor of the DONKI Mall Thonglor (Thonglor 10). A concept from Japan, it features a variety of sports and entertainment options for the whole family such as batting cages, table tennis, tennis, football and basketball with automated equipment, meaning you can play by yourself. There are also traditional table tennis tables, arcade games (with a sports focus), air hockey, climbing walls, basket- ball hoops, badminton courts, and a small soft play area for toddlers.

Lilliput cafe is inside Bambini Villa. They have a great kids menu with all things tailored towards kids, frothy drinks and star shaped sandwiches, Lilliput is also a place for fun. The cafe has several different areas including a fully stocked creative play area and there is even a small carousel for the kids to ride on in the center of the cafe!

Chocolate Ville is just a name, there is nothing to do with chocolate there but it is worth taking the trip to the outskirts of Bangkok. It’s not a theme park as there are no rides, it is more of a place to enjoy the countryside and experience a fun themed dining afternoon with the teddy bears!

A Little Something has 6 locations throughout Bangkok. Their concept is ‘learning by cooking’ for kids which is not only enjoyable for them but all so helps their development and learning processes. They have turned their kitchens into classrooms and all classes are conducted in both English and Thai by professional chefs. The menus have been created for kids by kids and is a fun day out for the whole family. Bookings in advance are a must.

Woodnote is a place where kids can enjoy everything that nature has to offer from forest play to barbeques and camping and a place where they can play in the mud or ride their bikes around dedicated kids bike track.

The Hay is a safe and professional place to learn horse riding and interact with beautiful horses in a day trip for the entire family, and just 40 minutes outside Bangkok. They provide horse riding lessons and experiences with qualified kid friendly instructors, for riders of all abilities: from novices to very experienced in a clean and safe environment. You can book one off lessons or ongoing courses and they cater for all ages (1 year up!) and have equestrian equipment, gloves, helmets and boots etc., for both rent and sale. The Hay has over 30 (well cared for) healthyhorses including some small Shetl and ponies in a petting area. There is a lovely onsite restaurant and off street parking.

Roller Dome Thailand operates several indoor, open-aired roller skate rinks in Bangkok, Roller Dome Emporium are good places for inline skating and riding balance bikes on leveled tiled floors. Children and adults are both welcome.
Arena contains two ovals: an inner oval for beginners and a larger oval for more experienced skaters. Barriers on the sides are padded for safety. There are helpful staff including some Skate Plus trainers for beginning skaters as well as slalom, speed and slide.
