Support “The Chocolate Ville Carnival” 2019 Charity Event!

This February 2nd 2019, Chocolate Ville restaurant together with BAMBI and Spark Circus will be presenting ‘The Chocolate Ville Carnival’, a charity event to raise funds for Spark Circus Foundation.

Fun for All Ages

The event promises to be a vibrant and colorful carnival with spectacular circus acts, dance shows and magic shows performed around the restaurant by the talented artists of Spark Circus. BAMBI will be helping to set up fun games and activity stalls for kids. Meanwhile, Chocolate Ville’s kitchen will run as usual, serving up an array of delicious local and international favorites. There will also be a raffle draw for prizes donated by sponsors, including restaurant and hotel vouchers, as well as a mini bazaar where artisans and craft makers will be selling their goods, making the evening filled with entertainment for people of all ages.

Help Support Disadvantaged Communities

Through this event, the funds raised will help communities in the Mae Sot (Thai-Myanmar border) area. Spark Circus primarily works alongside an NGO called Help Without Frontiers, which provides support along the border to displaced people, most of whom are children and youth, who find themselves in emergency situations. Spark Circus also works with communities that are not aided by any NGOs. They also also support other charity groups, such as Play On-Side. Fundraising will come from food sales, raffle ticket sales, games and activities coupon sales, donation boxes, and hiring out tables to vendors for the bazaar.

Coming Together for Worthwhile Causes

Chocolate Ville is a large outdoor restaurant, designed to look like an old European village, complete with a lighthouse, cottages and ducks swimming in the lake. It spans over 16 rai of land and has a seating capacity of over 2,000. As soon as the doors open, tourists, locals and expats flood in to take photos and enjoy the European vibe. The menu is a fusion of Thai and Western dishes, catering to a wide range of taste buds. Since its opening in 2011, it has been one of the top recommended places to visit in Bangkok.

Spark Circus is a not-for-profit organization that employs skilled circus performers from around the globe. Their vision is to bring the joy and healing of play and creative self-discovery to disadvantaged groups of children and youth through running workshops to teach circus skills as well as through performing shows. The youth are mainly refugees, migrants, impoverished, disabled or ill in the Mae Sot area. Their programs are funded through grants and international fund-raising campaigns and events. Proceeds from the Chocolate Ville Carnival will go to funding their training program with NGO, Help Without Frontiers.

BAMBI (Bangkok Mummies and Babies International) is a project of the Childbirth & Breastfeeding Foundation of Thailand. (CBFT). They are a not-for-profit organization run by volunteer mothers. Their aim is to provide support and companionship for pregnant women and parents of young children of all nationalities in Bangkok.  Setting up playgroups, running educational sessions to promote quality childcare, providing pre-and post-natal support are some of the ways by which they support their members. A large part of their time is also invested in charity work. Surplus funds raised through membership, donations and activities are donated to local charities which reflect BAMBI’s concerns and priorities.
