Where to Get Craft Supplies in Bangkok

For arts and crafts sessions at home and other DIY projects, here’s where to source all the materials you need (and more).

Suksaphan Panit

Suksaphan Panit is a government-run store geared for educators, with multiples branches around Bangkok, including near the National Stadium (BTS: National Stadium) and on Rajadamnern Klang Road, among others (unfortunately, there was a recent fire at the Ekamai branch and it’s closed indefinitely). While the premises are dated, Suksaphan sells lots of crafting supplies, sensory bin materials, paper goods, rubber stamp sets, science equipment and other school supplies at relatively inexpensive prices.

Sampeng Lane

Sampeng Lane in Chinatown is where you can find paper, stationery, glitter, beads, stickers, washi tape and lots of sensory bin materials, among a huge variety of products. This market is ideal for those buying in bulk (e.g., 3 items and up will be cheaper than buying 1 or 2 pieces), and some stores will only sell multiple items. More info here.

Papermania

Located in mid-Ekamai, between sois 10 and 12, Papermania stocks loads of paper for multiple purposes. Specialty paper includes coloured cardboard paper, poster paper, beautiful paper made from mulberry pulp, wrapping paper and large sticker sheets. They also have a small selection of craft sticks, googly eyes, string and miscellaneous scrapbooking and decorative items.

Sukhumvit Graphic

A small shop on Sukhumvit Road, between soi 22 and Benjasiri Park, Sukhumvit Graphic sells lots of random things for craft activities, such as cellophane, crepe paper, card stock, wrapping paper, glitter, paint and stickers. It’s packed with everything you need for fun homemade crafts.

Sukhumvit Stationary

Between Sukhumvit sois 20 and 22, this well organised store sells a range of art supplies and ready-made kits, from canvases, easels and cutting tools to DIY painting and model kits.

Somjai

With branches on Treepetch Road, and in The Old Siam Plaza, Chamchuri Square, Cental Rama 9 and more, Somjai is an art and stationary supply store. They have oil and acrylic paints and mediums, paper, canvas, pastels, graphic and art markers, screen printing supplies, craft supplies, colourful plastic boards, rubber stamps and more. Some branches also sell office equipment, stationary, and Thai books (of general interest), magazines and comics.

Pinn Shop

For those who like sewing and knitting-type crafts, you’ll find everything you need at Pinn Shop’s many branches, including Siam Paragon (Exotique Thai zone), CentralWorld, Central Rama 3, The Shoppes at Rama 9, Zpell @Future Park, and many more. From cross stitch and knitting to sewing kits, sewing machines and looms, start your DIY projects here. Also, enquire about free courses provided for customers.

Tang Hua Seng

This old-timey department store maintains two branches: one across the river in Thonburi and one in Banglumphu, near Khao San Road. A bona fide haberdashery, they sell cotton and synthetic fabric, felt, fat quarters, batting, thread and buttons, as well as various craft supplies at inexpensive prices. Enquire about free courses for customers.
