Top 10 Places for Toddlers in Bangkok

Get out and explore the toddler-friendly side of Bangkok!  Here are our favourite places to bring children ages 1 to 3.

1. Bangkok Butterfly Garden

Situated in Rod Fai Park, the dome-encased garden accommodates lots of butterflies in a natural environment. The sanctuary also includes rockeries, a waterfall, ferns and wild flowers, all part of a larger area containing an activity ground, exhibition area, feed breeding and embryo room, and insectarium.

2. Root Garden

This small urban farm in Thonglor features vegetable patches, a chicken coop, goats and more. Visitors are welcome to walk right in – there’s plenty of shade and a small cafe, and children can water the crops or feed the animals.

3. Skippy Water Land

Located in the Plus Mall on Kanjanapisek Road in Thonburi, this water park is awesome for toddlers. It boasts three large slides, a complex water playground, multiple fountains and toddler play features. Also, knee deep water makes it a relatively safe environment for free play.

4. Sea Life Bangkok

In the basement of Siam Paragon, the Sea Life aquarium offers a 270-degree glass tunnel, glass bottomed boat, shark diving and ocean walking presentations, two penguin enclosures, a jellyfish room and much more. Buy an annual pass to save money on repeat visits.

5. Lumpini Park

Occupying a central location, Lumpini Park is lovely for children (and adults). Shaded walkways and paths around the perimeter of the park are perfect for walking and taking in the sights (look out for the monitor lizards!). There are two large playgrounds with sand pits, and many sheltered niches for picnicking or rest.

6. Neilson Hays Library

Get out to the library, housed in a historic building on Suriwong Road, on Saturday morning for a couple hours of themed crafts and storytelling. Or visit on a quieter weekday morning – there’s a lovely and well-stocked reading nook for children, as well as a baby-friendly café with both Thai and Western choices.

7. Children’s Discovery Museum

Toddler highlights in this 7,000+ square metre facility include the dinosaur room and adjoining excavation pit; outdoor water play park with water jets, rain showers and fountains; and the Rainbow Building, which houses Big Backyard, Rainbow Town and Nature Playground – zones geared for exploration and sensory play.

8. Kidzoona Molly Fantasy

With multiple branches around Bangkok (usually in shopping malls), this indoor play space offers a dedicated toddler area equipped with age-appropriate toys, a huge ball pit and a faux town with shops and props, including dress up clothes — a great venue for active play.

9. Wat Prayoon

Situated within a lush compound on the Thonburi side, this temple is a hit with young children, thanks to its huge and tranquil turtle pool. Children will enjoy watching and personally hand feeding the turtles (food is sold on the premises).

Located on Ratchapruek Road, this indoor playground features quality equipment, ample safety features and a high level of cleanliness. For little ones, there’s a dedicated toddler zone, as well as a small Cruzee strider bike track with bikes and helmets. Older toddlers may enjoy zipping down the tube slide!
