Super Chef Asia to Launch at St. Andrews Sathorn, Bangkok

Exciting news for passionate young chefs! From 22 to 26 February 2016, for five days over the school break, St. Andrews Sathorn will launch the Super Chef camp for kids ages 6 to 12. In this program, they will learn how to cook a variety of dishes from start to finish. They will also understand how to navigate the ins and outs of a busy kitchen, learning basic safety, hygiene and procedures. And on the final day, the kids will set up their own restaurant with a live cooking station for their parents to enjoy.

Super Chef first launched in Singapore in 2012 under the helm of culinary expert Tim Ong. Since then, Tim and his dedicated team of chefs have had over 1,000 kids whip up more than 20,000 dishes. In addition to teaching children how to cook, Tim will also show the kids the importance of teamwork, leadership and following instructions — in the professional kitchen and life in general.

For the Bangkok session, participants will be split into two age groups: 6 to 8 years and 9 to 12 years. The topic is “Super Chef Classics”, featuring all time international favourites, including Vietnamese spring rolls, potato rosti, okonomiyaki, pizza, sushi, bread dough, carrot cake and more – all tried and tested by previous participants.

The Super Chef camp costs THB 11,250 for five days (no pro rata), with each day’s program running from 9am to 3pm. Healthy lunches and snacks are included, and the camp will try to accommodate every child’s dietary preferences. Also, there is a no nut policy, to ensure that those with nut allergies are safe. Kids will also receive a commemorative camp t-shirt.
