Language of Behaviour Workshop Series

From 19 – 21 September 2019, Steven Forth, M.Ed, BCBA, will be conducting a Language of Behaviour Workshop Series for teachers, TAs, therapists and parents in Bangkok at Spark Centre and in Nakon Nayok, at Farm de Lek.

Steven has been helping families and schools understand the language of behaviour and providing practical behavioural solutions for the past 16 years. He is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst and holds a Masters in Curriculum, Instruction & Applied Behavioural Analysis from Arizona State University. He works with families and schools (at Elementary, Middle & High School levels), advocating to transform the lives of students through private consultation, professional development, and family workshops. He is dedicated to developing natural environment plans for ABA programs that follow the interests of the individual. He deeply believes that a well-designed sensory environment creates infinite learning opportunities for all.

Below are the details of his September workshop series.

Thursday, 19 September 2019 – for Parents & Therapists

These workshops are designed to foster an understanding of challenging behaviours we may see at home or in treatment settings. Participants will be encouraged to see behaviour as a form of communication and understand the underlying need the behaviour may serve. The workshops will provide caregivers with practical tools for responding to challenging behaviour with compassion, while teaching better forms of communication. Participants will also gain understanding into the attention, emotional regulation, and planning challenges caused by executive functioning and sensory differences. Strategies will be shared on creating a sensory friendly space and helping individuals self-regulate habits such as screen time.

Steven will share a system for understanding the reason a behaviour may occur and how to create goals that directly address the core issue. He will also explore the concept of sensory-based executive functioning differences. These workshops will also inspire attendees to create an engaging learning environment that harnesses the learner’s creativity and internal motivation.
