6 More Family-Friendly Restaurants in Bangkok

If you’re eating out with the family and after reliably good food in kid-friendly settings, the following restaurants are worthy of a visit.

1. Rosabieng

Located in a two-story Thai house in Sukhumvit Soi 11, Rosabieng serves up great Thai food with lots of options for kids such as fried shrimp patties, grilled chicken, stir fries and various noodle and rice dishes. The restaurant’s décor revolves around a train-themed setting that includes a miniature European model town, complete with a running electric trains, a snowy mountain, tiny buildings and mini people. Also, a garden, terrace and pond are available for kids that need to get out and explore (adult supervision required).

2. Max’s Magical Thai Food

Look forward to tasty, affordable Thai classics at this lively eatery on Rambuttri Road, close to Khao San Road. The portions are on the hearty side with standout options including the chicken and cashew nuts and crispy mushrooms in a spicy tamarind sauce. Kids will also be kept thoroughly entertained by Max, the restaurant’s affable owner, as he performs a series of illusions and magic tricks using cards and coins.  A fun, family-friendly destination guaranteed to please!

3. Hajime Robot Restaurant

After being closed for some time, the Hajime Robot Restaurant recently re-opened in the same location at Monopoly Park, Rama 3 Road. Here, the draw is the Japanese fare served by a samurai robot in a futuristic setting (the robot also dances to pop music). Diners have the option of two buffet menus, Yakinu (BBQ) or Shabu (hot pot), with raw ingredients served by the robot. You’d have to cook such ingredients at your table, which can also be fun for the kids.

4. Crepes & Co.

With branches at Eight Thonglor (Thonglor Soi 8) and in Langsuan Soi 1, Crepes & Co. is a perennial favourite for families, especially for weekend brunch. Tuck into savoury crepes in traditional and international flavours, as well as hearty salads, pasta dishes and Mediterranean fare – topped off with sweet crepes for dessert. A kid’s corner features toys, games and books, as well as sofas; outdoor dining spaces are also available in Langsuan.

5. Villa de Bear

On Ratchaphruek Road, the huge Villa de Bear restaurant features its own back story: Villy Villy, the restaurant’s bear mascot (with no arms to get in the way of hugs) inherited his uncle’s teddy bear factory. More interested in spreading joy with food than toys, however, he turned the factory into a food village, referencing the venue’s history with thread, button and gear themed dining halls. The food is fusion, Thai and international; signature dishes include Pasta with Ebiko Cream Sauce, Crispy Soft Shell Crab Salad and Salmon Croissant Pudding. A spacious outdoor area provides a playground, as well as seating for those who want to dine outside; in the evenings, there’s usually a live band playing.

6. Little Pea Kids Commons

Located at the Play Yard (2nd floor) of The Commons, Little Pea caters exclusively to families. Drop in for a bite, choosing from a selection of healthy, kid-friendly options such as spinach quesadillas, veggie sticks and dip, egg frittata and chicken nuggets. Little diners are welcome to explore an awesome selection of picture books and hand-on activity stations such as a Lego brick bar and a colouring wall. There’s also a drop-in crafts room, with babysitting services, as well as ongoing classes and activities for kids.
